Q: How long should I allow for the shoot?
Our headshot session usually last anywhere from 2-3 hours. You may want
to bring water and a light snack. Stay away from snacks that will stain the teeth or tongue.
Q: What about Make-Up?
We suggest the following four options. The first is having a professional make-up artist do your make-up. This is highly recommended for women, especially in the Leading Lady
category. We can recommend a professional make-up artist if needed. It’s your responsibility to
book and pay them. Rates starts at approximately $125.00 and up. These rates are separate and is not
included in the above photo package rates. Second, if you have a make up artist you like and want to bring them, you may do so. Just inform studio at the time of scheduling appointment.
Third, if you feel comfortable doing your own make-up you can come with minimal make up on and apply the rest at the studio. Since photos are digital, we will be able to see
if we need more or less and if color is right before shooting.
Optional for Atlanta clients - MAC makeup at Rich’s/Macy’s Department Store will
do your make-up with a $40.00 purchase. You must call ahead to schedule an appointment.
Since we shoot majority with natural light, we ask that the make up is lightly applied and very natural
looking. There is a MAC counter inside Rich’s/Macy’s at Southlake Mall near studio.
If you are not using a professional make-up artist, we ask
that you bring foundation and loose or pressed powder for the face that matches your completion. Since
we shoot with natural lighting, we recommend “MAC” which can be found at Rich’s/Macy’s.
Boys/Men
should bring lip balm along with foundation and loosed or pressed powder.
Girls should bring clear lip gloss (no glitter in it.)
or lipstick the same shade of the lips. Mascara, foundation and loosed or pressed powder.
Girls/Women ages 15 and up should bring clear lip gloss (no glitter in it.) or lipstick the same shade of the lips. Mascara, eyeliner, natural
eye shadows. Foundation and loosed or pressed powder. We like make-up that looks natural and fresh. Remember, make-up should
enhance features, not take them over.
Q: What should I do to prepare for my shoot?
In order to have a great shoot you must be prepared. Rest - Get plenty of sleep the night before. If you or your child has allergies,
remain indoors as much as possible the day before. Remember, if you are tired, it shows. Clothing - Pick, press and pack the clothing you are bringing the night before.
Skin Care - Drink plenty of water. Relax and don't stress. Hair
- You know your hair the best. If your hair styles better before washing, don’t wash
it. Fresh cuts and brow waxing is not recommended within 24 hours of the shoot. If you think you need
a haircut, get one, just watch the stylist to make sure they don’t cut more than you want.
Q: What should I bring to wear?
We ask that you bring at least a minimal of five outfits. That includes tops and
bottoms. Clothing should be casual clothing already pressed and on hangers or folded neatly. Stay away from clothing that
may distract from you as the subject. These are usually clothing that are too bright, too flashy or too big. No big logos
or bold pattern/print. No cowl necks or turtle necks. Mock turtles are ok. No baggy clothes. Since the photographs will be taken in color, we ask that you bring us a variety of
colors to choose from. Mostly solids. Dual tones are great. Usually black, earth tones or subtle primary colors work well.
Do not bring all the same color. Pick colors that goes will with your skin tone, hair and eye color. If your eyes are blue
or green, we asked that you bring us a least one shirt/top that is the color of your eyes. Clothing with textures works well.
If in doubt, bring it. We rather have more to choose from than not enough.
For the bottoms jeans or slacks. Feel free to bring kakis, Capri’s, long shorts, overalls or
skirts as well. V-necks, light weight sweaters T-Shirts, oxfords, pullover or button down shirts. Dress shirts, ties, jackets/blazer
and muscle shirts. Layers looks are great. No formal or fufu (pageant) clothing.
Accessories should be minimal. If you have pierced ears, please include a pair of studs with your
selection.. Also, bring hair accessories and products for you hair. This should include hair sprays or gels.
